More About Class

In this course, students will explore the beginnings of the United States through exploring our own Utah landscape. We will examine the geography of Utah and consider how it impacted the lives of the Indigenous peoples of the state by hiking the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and visiting the Natural History Museum of Utah. Students will also learn about the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, and then consider how this document compares to the Utah Constitution. We will be touring the Utah State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion to see firsthand how these documents have manifested in our own state.
