More About Class
In this two-day novel-writing intensive, students will learn all the tools needed to begin writing their own book. They will learn the fundamentals of plot and structure, character development, world-building/setting, and even an introduction to the business of publishing. Whether you’re interested in writing contemporary stories about modern families or fantasy stories about witches and dragons, the building blocks are the same.
In addition, after the writing exercises and warmups we will do throughout the course, students will also leave with full, complete draft of a poem and a deeper understanding of poetic tools such as imagery, line, and form. They will be able to continue using these tools after the course, both as they build up their poetry portfolio, and as they begin drafting their beautifully written, image-filled, lyrical novels!
